RAPID KINETICS
- STOPPED FLOW AND QUENCHED FLOW
Bio-logic offers many innovations for today's stopped flow and
quenched flow experiments. The success of these experiments is made
possible by the instruments unique features
- Anaerobic confinement of reactants
- Full computer control of experiments
- Micro litre volume of reactants
- Sub-millisecond dead time
These versatile instruments provide single, double or triple reactant
mixing, with variable delay lines. Stopped flow, quenched flow,
reactant volumes and sequence timings are all under computer control.
Changes to experimental procedures can be made very quickly by a
few keystrokes.

SFM stopped flow - full Computer Control
Bio-Logic stopped flow instruments use computer controlled stepping
motors to drive syringes. This innovative control gives high precision
rate and volume control, completely variable mixing ratios and no
overpressure artifacts.
Rapid kinetic reactions can be detected by UV, CD, fluorescence,
FTIR and mass spectroscopy. Also by dual detection such as CD plus
fluorescence. Typical Bio-Logic experiments include:
- Protein folding
- Conformational changes
- Substrate binding
- Enzyme kinetics
- Second messenger studies
